Debenhams exits Nectar scheme

Today is the last day that you'll be able to earn Nectar points when shopping at Debenhams, as Debenhams has decided to exit the Nectar scheme. They sent out an email which, when taken to Debenhams with a Nectar card, will get you £15 of money-off vouchers.

Alternatives: Looking for a replacement? If you shop at Debenhams and want an alternative way of being rewarded, now that Debenhams is no longer with Nectar... Consider the MBNA Rewards card. You collect points when you shop, and these points can be exchanged for cash or High Street vouchers (including Debenhams vouchers). More details at consumerdeals.co.uk/finance.html

You can earn Nectar points from other partners, including Dollond and Aitchison, Sainsburys, AA, BP, Ford, Hertz. You can also get points off household bills with EDF Energy and TalkTalk. See our list at consumerdeals.co.uk/nectar.html#earn. Check out the 5,000 Bonus Points offer too.

I had no notification from Nectar that Debenhams were no longer participating in the Nectar scheme. I have £150 of Nectar points that I wanted to redeem in Debenhams yesterday (23.02.08) only to find that the scheme was no longer in existence. I was disappointed as it had taken years to collect them. Only to find that if Nectar had informed me this was the situation, I would of purchased my expensive items the week before!! Bad communication on Nectars part I think!!

i agree with the person on comment no 1 i went in on the 1st off march handed my card in and was told i could no longer use my nectar card any more i would have thought that debanhams being a big clothes store r nectar would have informed us at one stage are another and would have give us a chance to spend the points after they had cancled as not everybody can go to sainsburys etc

Also Debenhams are still mailing me with offers etc. Which I have tried to Unsubscribe from, without success - And also more worrying is that they still have our personal details (supplied by Nectar) I think they should be destroying this information now that they have left the Loyalty Scheme!

I AM A DISABLED LADY IN RECEIPT OF THE MOBILITY CAR SCHEME. HOW THIS WORKS A CAR IS LEASED FROM A CAR DEALER, IN THIS CASE FORD, YET MY ALLOWANCE MONEY IS PAID DIRECTLY TO MOBILITY AS THEY ARE THE INTERMEDIATES. IT IS ENTIRELY MY DECISION WHAT MAKE OF CAR I DECIDE TO HAVE AS FORD ARE THE DEALERS, I DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THEM REGARDING SERVICING ETC. THE REASONS FOR MY COMMENTS ARE WHY DON'T I RECEIVE NECTAR POINTS LIKE ANY OTHER NON DISABLED PERSON WOULD.

Err because your not actually paying for the servicing. All you need to pay for is petrol so why should you get cash back incentives for something your not paying for directly. The money you pay per month is mainly for the rental of the car, insurance, tax, tyres etc is fronted by the Goverment.
