Dec 06 Passengers to stage timetable protest - Monday 18th December 2006 saw c2c introduce a number of tweaks to their deeply unpopular Winter timetable (launched last week), and commuters suffered another slow, crowded journey this morning. The Evening Echo website reports that a planned passenger protest is set for 6pm today (Monday) to try to get c2c to see reason and get our trains running on time again. Dec 06 New Timetable fiasco - On Monday 11th December 2006, c2c introduced their new timetable, and passengers have been suffering the consequences - long delays and crowded trains, ever since. Passengers are dreading the return of the misery line, and changes to the timetable just one week later have made little difference. Until July 2000, c2c Rail was known as LTS Rail (Standing for London, Tilbury and Southend). In May 1996, LTS Rail entered the private sector. The LTS line dates back to 1855. Southend Station (now Southend Central), opened in 1856 with a steam service to London via Tilbury. More
