| Dec 06 | Passengers to stage timetable protest - Monday 18th December 2006 saw c2c introduce a number of tweaks to their deeply unpopular Winter timetable (launched last week), and commuters suffered another slow, crowded journey this morning. The Evening Echo website reports that a planned passenger protest is set for 6pm today (Monday) to try to get c2c to see reason and get our trains running on time again. Until July 2000, c2c Rail was known as LTS Rail (Standing for London, Tilbury and Southend). In May 1996, LTS Rail entered the private sector. The LTS line dates back to 1855. Southend Station (now Southend Central), opened in 1856 with a steam service to London via Tilbury. More
